Explanations often fall short. People often say, “I am channeling healing energy through me and into your body, which heals you,” but that’s not very clear. How does that actually work?

My name is Arne Pedersen. I am a mindfulness-based counselling hypnotherapist and energy healer in Victoria, BC. I help people online and in person to resolve various emotional challenges, such as anxiety, stress, depression, OCD, ADHD, PTSD, and to create balance in their body to support healing chronic pain, among other things.

Energy healing greatly assisted me many years ago when I was grappling with deep anxiety, panic attacks, and chronic pain. This motivated me to delve into learning about it through training, research, and practice. I discovered that using self-energy healing techniques supported my body’s healing process. Skipping these daily sessions would leave me feeling less grounded emotionally and physically. I also found meditation to be immensely beneficial in similar ways, helping my body release fears and stress, fostering trust in the present moment and with my bodily sensations and emotions, supporting my body to go into a recuperative and regenerative state of homeostasis. The synergy between energy healing techniques and meditation was evident.

Understanding Energy Healing and Its Mechanisms

Have you ever heard the saying, “Everything is energy”? This has been scientifically proven. But how does this relate to everyday life and health?

The ground you stand on, the chair you sit on, the air you breathe, your thoughts, feelings, and even radio waves are all energy, albeit different patterns and frequencies, but all still energy. If your body is energy, its molecular structure must consist of specific and unique patterns and frequencies different from someone else’s.

The distinction between individuals, or between one state and another, lies in the varying patterns and frequencies of energy at a fundamental level.

If everything is energy, then when your body is in a healthy state, it expresses patterns and frequencies of energy aligned with health and harmony. Conversely, when your body is in an unhealthy state, it expresses patterns and frequencies aligned with that state of unhealthiness. So, your body’s energy patterns correspond to its state of health or unhealthiness.

When your body is out of balance or in a state of dis-ease, it’s not expressing wellness with patterns relative to harmony. Your mind also plays a role, expressing different energy patterns and frequencies relative to your mood or perspective. For instance, feeling sad or depressed manifests as lower and denser energy, while happiness feels lighter and more expansive.

The power of your mind

You can leverage your mind’s power to create different energies and emotions in your body relative to either a state of health or unhealthiness. Focusing on negative things induces feelings and thoughts of unhappiness, triggering your nervous system into a state of worry or survival, diverting energy from growth to survival mode, significantly impeding your body’s healing abilities.

Conversely, focusing on joyful things with open and loving intentions promotes positive energy, motivating you to act in positive and creative ways. This triggers your nervous system into a creative state of growth and regeneration, supporting your immune system to function more efficiently.

Energy healing operates on this principle. Practitioners hold positive energy intentions, imagining or intending healing life force energy channeling through them into the recipient, adjusting the recipient’s energy patterns from disharmony to ease and flow. This facilitates the recipient’s transition from a negative to a positive state, aligning their body and mind with a state of health and harmony.

Energy healing creates constructive interference patterns, raising the recipient’s energy and promoting healing, akin to being around positive people whose energy uplifts you. It helps your body find its way back to health and homeostasis, leaving you with a sense of peace and a peaceful mind.

Energy Interference patterns

Constructive and destructive interference patterns, akin to waves in the ocean, illustrate the essence of energy healing. Imagine two waves, each with a height of 5 feet, meeting during their up cycle. When these waves resonate together, their energies combine constructively, with the simple math of 5 + 5 = 10, resulting in a heightened wave measuring 10 feet. This constructive interference symbolizes the uplifting effect of being around positive individuals whose energy aligns with ours, enhancing our overall well-being. 

Conversely, if one wave is on its up cycle while the other is on its down cycle, their energies cancel each other out, with the simple math of 5 – 5 = 0, resulting in a neutral wave with no discernible height. This destructive interference pattern mirrors the draining effect of negative individuals whose energy clashes with ours, leaving us feeling depleted. In energy healing, practitioners intentionally hold positive energy, fostering constructive interference patterns within the recipient’s energy field. This uplifts their energy, promotes healing, and facilitates a return to a state of health and harmony, akin to the uplifting effect of being around positive individuals.

Conclusion: Embracing Energy Healing

Energy healing can be conducted in-person or online, however, rather than do energy healing on someone, I prefer to empower clients to use their minds to perform self-energy healing.
